Macrame is a traditional method of crafting decorative textiles using hand knotting of cords or thick threads, often into geometric shapes. This process using natural materials creates some tolerances in dimensions.
The maker is a women-led enterprise dedicated to providing marginalised women with safe and sustainable employment opportunities. They specialise in traditional, handcrafted products and advocate for the disadvantaged rural artisan women who rely on fair wages to lead self-sufficient and dignified lives.
